Brief Introduction of Xian Jiaotong University:

The predecessor of Xi’an Jiaotong University is Nanyang Public University which was founded in Shanghai in 1896; in 1905, it was transferred to the commercial department and was renamed High Industrial School; in 1906, it was under the command of postal transmission department. It was renamed Shanghai High Industrial School of Postal Transmission Department.

Xi’an Jiaotong University has a feature of Science and Technology.It covers 19 college (the Department) and 3 clinical teaching hospital.The present staff is more than 5600 ,and full-time teacher 2100, of whom 1670 doctoral tutors and professors, associate professor.

In recent years, the college keep on adapt to the new situation of reforming and development of the international higher education schools .The school has establish a modern system of scientific decision-making, implementation and supervision ,so that the school management and international practice has laid a solid foundation for becoming a high-level university which was well-known in the world .
